the graveyard is without walls
“the graveyard is without walls”
the cemetery on the corner cityblock,
sat in a sunken land that sloped down from the sidewalk,
it did not have walls.
blanketed by tall trees,
the canopies covered the citylights,
a single streetlamp i thought,
was the full moon instead.
the canopy branched out to the streets,
fallen leaves fluttered and skittered back in the sunken block.
